Our Services

At Special Opportunities Organization (SOO), we provide empowering programs designed to help individuals with disabilities build confidence, independence, and meaningful life skills. Our wrap-around services support personal growth, wellness, employment, and advocacy for individuals and families.

Peer To Peer Support

Building community, connection, and empowerment through shared experiences. SOO’s Peer-to-Peer Support program connects individuals with trained peer mentors who have lived experience navigating similar challenges. These sessions offer encouragement, understanding, and accountability to help participants maintain recovery, build confidence, and reach personal goals.

Job Readiness

Preparing individuals for meaningful employment and career success. The Job Readiness Program equips participants with the skills, confidence, and tools to enter or re-enter the workforce. SOO helps individuals with disabilities and other barriers develop the professional skills needed to achieve independence and long-term employment.

Goal Setting & Life Skills Development

Teaching practical, everyday skills needed for independent living and success. Equips individuals with tools to manage daily life effectively. This is more about hands-on, practical skills for living and working independently.

Parent Support & Education

Supporting parents with disabilities and parents raising children with disabilities. This program provides parents with education, resources, and peer support to strengthen family well-being and promote success at home and in school. It combines emotional support with practical tools for balance, communication, and advocacy.

 Wellness Suppport

Supporting mental, emotional, and physical health. Encourages overall well-being and balance in life. This program supports participants’ emotional and mental health, helping them stay balanced and resilient.

Advocacy Skills

Empowering individuals and families to speak up for their needs and rights. The Advocacy Skills program helps participants gain the knowledge and confidence to advocate for themselves and others within schools, workplaces, and community systems. SOO also trains parents to effectively advocate for their children with disabilities.
